Carol Ann, author of Angels Under My Bed, Mam to six and nana to six is a retired Nurse practitioner with 43 years' experience in the health service. Through this story she wishes to share her memories of her student nure days in Belfast City Hospital.

As Anya focused on her reflection memories flooded back of those turbulent times when her Mary and Brigid had to navigate the challenges of their nursing career path. The hatred and mayhem of The Troubles that engulfed their world and filled their wards with casualties of this war. Patients separated outside by peace walls were now separated only by the thinnest curtains. Erskine House became their sanctuary. Inside this protective nurse's home for three years they laughed. they loved and they cried like any normal teenagers. The Erskine Angels; the three sisters born from three different mammies.
